About
Hi! I'm Adam Warner. I am a personal support specialist, coach, trainer and consultant based in the East Midlands in the UK. My previous careers have been in the fields of employability; counselling and supervision; life coaching workshops; public event organisation and promotion and performance in the entertainment industry. So, let me tell you a little bit more about myself!
My passionate interest in the field of personal development, has allowed me to proudly say that I have dedicated the past 30 years of my life, helping others to 'perfect' themselves. This goes for me also as I believe that this fantastic journey is a life long quest to understanding society; the people I meet and ultimately my life's purpose. I have no doubts that life's great lesson is to serve others so, I intend to continue serving others with priceless insights that will help them in their lives - principally through the use of what I have devised and called Oppositive thinking - or 'Flip' thinking.

The start of a fantastic journey
My fascination with this subject started whilst in the last year of school, when I began to research how to communicate effectively so I could successfully seek employment. This led me to the purchase of my very first personal development book called '23 steps to success and achievement' by Robert J. Lumsden. It's still in my library to this very day and was a major catalyst in making me the man that I now am. I had no idea that books like this existed at such a young age. Most of the books or publications I'd read up until then were given to us as text books for school exercises or to revise for exams etc.
I must admit. those books never made much of an impact on me. But, reading through this particular one, I began to discover amazing gems that have stayed with me for many, many years. I felt an immediate inner 'connection' with life changing concepts such as problem solving; determination; goal setting; enhanced thinking etc - and thus began my love affair with personal development and the pursuit of excellence. Wow! what a journey - and it's not over yet.

A new way of thinking
I am the main contributor to the ultimate guide to peace, success & happiness blog and also the founder of the Oppositive Thinking thought interchange success system. More details about this unique method now follows -
The war within
The key factor linked to achieving success in all areas of your life, is your ability to control the two essential sides of your ‘self’ that are in a constant struggle with each other. These two sides are:
1). Your positive self – that aspect of you that generally responds to constructive opportunities and sets in motion optimistic possibilities, which ultimately bring you to create increased peace, success and happiness - not only for yourself but also for those around you..
2). Your negative self – that aspect of you that generally submits to destructive opportunities and takes you on a downward spiral journey of self recrimination and frustration that always, always, always ends up with you saying regretfully, “I really wish I hadn’t done this now”. Sometimes, the end result is so devastating that no amount of words can provide any consolation.

Why do I get these positive and negative thoughts?
You’re being subjected to positive and negative influences (suggestions) constantly throughout your daily life. They have been (or are) communicated to you through:
You’re being subjected to positive and negative influences (suggestions) constantly throughout your daily life. They have been (or are) communicated to you through:
- Those who raised you.
- Those you associate with.
- Learning and education systems.
- Advertising and the media.
- Other forms of mass or interpersonal communication etc.
So WHO really is in control?
That's an easy one. You are! Although these suggestions are constantly trying to influence you one way or another, you're the only one who ultimately decides what you want to do. There's no force or coercion in this process. It's absolutely based upon you using your own free will to decide what thoughts to focus on - and potentially cause to happen. The choices you make are completely up to you. There can be no blaming for the actions you decide to finally take. It's now easy to see how you can be your own culprit and victim rolled into one.
What can you do about this?
Although it may seem that you have little control over these two continually opposing factions, you can take immediate control over both of them straight away with minimal effort by using Oppositive Thinking.

What is Oppositve Thinking?
There is continuing psychological and philosophical debate regarding the capacity of the human mind to actively think of more than one thing at the same time. Some say that it's quite possible to do this. Others say it's impossible to achieve. Personally, I fall into the latter category.
So, if it is indeed impossible to actively think of two things at the exact same time, then this means that the human brain can only actively process one thought at a time. In relation to personal development, this further means that it's probably going to be a negative or positive thought that you'll be actively processing at any given time. Therefore, if you have the choice to actively think negatively or positively - my advice would be to choose to think positively all of the time! This is where Oppositive or 'Flip' thinking comes into play.
Oppositive thinking is a simple, but hugely effective method of using positive thought management to quickly deter the potential destructive effects of negative thinking. The term literally means to, 'perform that which is situated on the facing side'. It works by ensuring the moment you recognise a negative thought begins to enter or form in your mind – you immediately use its exact opposite to counteract it.
For example, if a thought such as, ‘I’ll never be able to make a better life for myself’ begins to form in your mind - by using Oppositive Thinking, you’d immediately repel that thought with, ‘I will be able to make a better life for myself’ and repeat that thought until the negative thought stops. It’s as simple as that! All you need to do is remember to use Oppositive Thinking any time you need to instantly repel a negative thought and get to start thinking positively once more.

But, isn't that just too simple?
As stated earlier, you can only actively think of one thing at any given time. Oh! you don't believe me? Go ahead and try it! Try to actively think of two things at exactly the same time. See? Your brain just 'crashes' and you can't think of anything!
So,by using Oppositive Thinking you ensure that the thoughts you hold in your mind (at any single time) are always positive ones. You take the full responsibility to ensure that your mind is free of negative thoughts. You are therefore always:
1). Focusing on a particular positive thought.
2). Thinking of how you can make this thought happen in reality (what you’d need to do make it occur).
3). Actually doing what you have decided upon when the opportunity arises (you get the chance to make your positive thoughts become real).
It's the perfect system for a perfect positive attitude!
